Dallas Over Omaha: The Five-Set Final That Crowned the Pulse 🏆
Dallas beat Omaha 3-2 in front of a sold-out 4,598 at Comerica Center, took the $1 million Match For A Million prize and won the title in the franchise's first season.
Dallas beat Omaha 3-2 to win the 2026 Major League Volleyball championship at Comerica Center, in front of a sold-out 4,598, and closed it 15-9 in the fifth.
It was the Pulse's first season of existence. The title came with the league's $1 million Match For A Million prize, and Sofia Maldonado Diaz took the most valuable player award with 26 kills.
Neither finalist was the top seed. Fourth-seeded Omaha had knocked out top-seeded Indy 15-13 in a fifth set to get there, and second-seeded Dallas had gone through San Diego.
The two had also met in the regular-season finale, and the result of that match set Omaha as the fourth seed for the bracket it then ran through.
An Expansion Team Won the Whole Thing
A franchise that did not exist eighteen months earlier finished its first season holding the trophy and the cheque. That is either a story about Dallas or a story about how open a first-year league is.
Both readings are available and the league would probably take either. A first season that ends with a sold-out arena and a five-set final is the outcome an expansion league writes down in advance.
Omaha's route was the harder one. It came through the top seed in a fifth set decided by two points and then lost a final by six in a fifth set of its own.
The Vegas Thrill sat out 2026 and returns for 2027 under new local ownership. Michael Landier owns it, Rachel Morris coaches it and it will play at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson.
