Harper Murray: The File on Nebraska's Engine 💪
Three seasons, three All-America teams, each one a rung higher than the last. She opened her senior year with 11 kills in Las Vegas.
Harper Murray plays her senior season for a team that opened the year ranked No. 1 in the country, and she came into it as a first-team AVCA All-American and a national player of the year semifinalist.
She has been an All-America selection in all three of her seasons and has climbed a rung each time, third team as a freshman, second team as a sophomore, first team last year.
A player who goes third team, then second team, then first team has spent three years being told she is getting better by the people who vote on it. There is nothing above first team.
Last season she averaged 3.54 kills per set on .295 hitting, with 2.16 digs and 0.60 blocks a set and 4.21 points. Her 34 aces led Nebraska, and a player who leads a national title contender in serving is doing a second job.
The career line is what puts it in scale. Murray sits on 1,181 kills, 19th in Nebraska history and 10th in the rally-scoring era, and on 109 career aces, sixth at the school in that era.
She has also been first-team All-Big Ten in every season since taking the conference Freshman of the Year award in 2023, and she was the Lincoln Regional Most Outstanding Player and an NCAA Championship All-Tournament pick in 2024.
Nebraska opened the 2026 season on 29 August at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and swept UNLV 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-16). Murray had 11 kills on .364 hitting and three blocks in the first volleyball match that building has ever staged.
